Kind of off topic, but I was helping somebody clean out a house a few weeks back and came across some old classified ads from 1973 in the beginning of the gas crisis era.
I swear if I had a time machine I’d go back to 1974 and buy everything with an engine over 400 cubic inches.

I would have a lot of Olds on my “here, let me take that off your hands” list.

It was a ton of cool stuff. And not your typical Chevelle/Mustangs, etc.
Rando stuff. Like a ‘66 Coronet 440, Delta 88 Super Rocket, and a 455 Catalina. It was a paper from the NYC metro area.

I remember when I was in high school there was a Boss 429 for sale in the local “Wheels Deals” circular that was put out. They were asking the outrageous sum of $10k, which in 1982 seemed like a lot for a Mustang. That would be $26k in today’s dollars.
